Thinking

Thinking, as well as the mind, have become so uninteresting and unfamiliar for a very long time. Even though thinking is the foundation of our lives and every intention and action is tied to it, it is neither studied nor given any real attention. Thinking comes in two types – independent and substitutionary, also referred to as consciousness and the subconscious. We call consciousness the independent thinking in everything in which we ourselves participate and take responsibility for. We call the subconscious all those invisible mental operations that proceed without our intervention and substitute for us, such as habits and ready-made answers. In fact, it is more correct to call them awareness and unawareness. The foundation of thinking is comparison. Comparison is a skill exercised by contrasting similarities, differences, ratios, component parts, and sequence. The primary method of comparison is when we identify the exact opposite of the goal of our thinking and set them side by side. Imagination is the skill of foreseeing what lies ahead, and is exercised by constructing intentions for our forthcoming actions. Remembering is a skill exercised by preserving and…

Communication and Sharing

One of the fundamental capacities of humans—and indeed of every living creature—is communication and sharing. While every other creature uses communication and sharing correctly, human communication is currently in its gravest crisis since the dawn of humanity. The movement is toward division into the smallest possible communities and isolated individuals, driving them into mutual opposition. Communication itself has degraded and warped into a strange form of compatibility that holds no meaning whatsoever for those involved. Yet, the true purpose of communication is the harnessing of collective forces, abilities, and skills to overcome obstacles and hurdles facing one or all. It is empathy, respect, compassion, and genuine care for others. Sharing finds itself in the exact same state as communication. It has degraded into concealment, lying, or empty chatter. Although sharing is often considered part of communication, it can also be practiced outside of it. Sharing is not bound to close ones or acquaintances; a person can share with any random stranger. What is shared is personal experience and knowledge from which others may benefit. Therefore, modern man does not suffer from a lack of information,…

36. The Resources at Our Disposal. This means directing our attention toward everything we possess—everything that is directly relevant to us, what is within us, and what surrounds us. This includes not only material objects but also people, our capabilities, our skills, and the vital things we remember. Because events will constantly emerge to divert us from our goal, we must perpetually remind ourselves of that goal and exert our will to return to it. By default, most of us invest our energy into pretending to be someone else, meddling in the affairs of others, and following others.

9. The destruction of our ability to communicate aims to annihilate our desire for connection, keeping us divided from others. When communicating with others, divergences in the meanings of words and thoughts, differing understandings of the same thing, and differences in our goals and intentions – or their concealment – create misunderstandings, subsequently leading to a fear of communication.

Guideline 37.2

37. No obligatory connections within the content we manage. Obligatory connections are links within the content that turn relationships with objects, people, situations, or ideas into pre-set obligations for future time and action. Content is everything we possess and use within and around us — what we are and the things at our disposal. Internally, a person creates connections that automatically become obligations through habits, through links to specific situations, through emotional and mental associations, and through a sense of duty without personal necessity. Externally, obligations are implemented through external models and then internalized through the imposition of cultural and moral norms, the suggestion of roles and rules, and authoritative figures. The same mechanism applies to objects and physical items. When a connection of the type “might be needed” is created toward an object, it leads to the need for space, organization, maintenance, and attention. In this way, the object begins to occupy future time and resources, even without being used. In all cases, a connection becomes an obligation when it preemptively occupies future time, attention, or action.

Guideline 35.2

„Without postponing your own intentions. This means we must stop postponing what we intend and need to do for ourselves. If it turns out that most of our time has been occupied with the affairs of others, this cannot be changed all at once. It may take a long period during which we gradually dismantle the habits of occupying ourselves with the affairs of others. And just when we think we have mastered our visible habits, we will discover others that we had not noticed until that moment.“ When we pursue a specific goal, many things constantly appear that try to pull us in different directions, distracting us and diverting our attention. We must repeatedly remind ourselves what goal we are following, and whenever we deviate from it, we must consciously exert our will in order to return to what we are doing. Stopping our involvement in the affairs of others is not a lack of empathy, but a restoration of our own integrity. Without this restoration, every action directed outward becomes mostly an automatic reaction rather than a conscious choice. To be continued. The publication…

For Basic Sanskrit – Part 3

I was looking for a shorter explanation of the word yoga, and I took the meanings from the dictionary of Professor Vaman Shivram Apte from 1890, I have translated the English meanings through Google translator into Bulgarian. If anyone wants to dig deeper, I’ve put it all below as taken from the dictionary – with the English meanings. If you translate each English word separately, you will be able to come up with several more meanings. Digging through these dictionaries is definitely a lot of fun, but it’s also time-consuming. Dictionaries and Sanskrit are not my goal, but one of my aids to my main goal of restoring an old text. I search for the meanings of certain words in this jungle of countless meanings. Everything written by each dictionary is scrutinized, and everything read is thought over and over. For most words, I have repeated this over a period of time. I look for the underlying meanings of words, and very often they are missing. In some cases the existing meanings are related and suggestive of the underlying meaning, but in other cases there…

For Basic Sanskrit – Part 1

I have been studying the ancient language called Sanskrit for 24 years, like one year very intensively. In fact, the correct name is Saanusvaarakrta, and it was used by a group of people called Aryans who moved into northern India and Iran several thousand years ago. Where they came from before that, no one knows. Their script is Brahmi, which about 2300 years ago began to be replaced by Devanagari. Personally, I doubt that the Aryans themselves changed their writing. Brahmi and Devanagari are scripts, alphabets, not languages. This language is not Indo-European, nor Indo-Aryan, nor Indian, as historians try to make it out to be. The languages that arose and subsequently became distinct at the local level and by the local population, all called by the name of Sanskrit can be called Indian. Each of these languages contains something of the original Sanskrit, also called Vedic Sanskrit. But that’s all they have in common. The grammar and rules of derived Sanskrit languages were written by the grammarian Panini 2400 years ago. This grammar is a complex system of 4000 rules. One of the rules…

Happiness

Reflecting on what happiness depends on, I established that it depends on our ability to play. We must not confuse play with competition and rivalry, nor happiness with joy. In play, there is no desire to win, and there are no winners or losers. Although the opposite is claimed, it seems to me that a person’s life repeats the history of humanity – that in the beginning, man was happy, and through his development, he has sunk deep into unhappiness, not the other way around. Isn’t childhood the beginning? No one teaches children how to play. They simply know how to play and they do it. The task of so-called adults is to teach children how to stop playing. To teach them that life is a competition and that they must win at all costs. To teach them that playing is foolish, and as proof, they present their own successfully ruined personal lives. More often we hear „Don’t play!“ than „Play!“ Laughter and play irritate the world because they ruin the pursuit of unhappiness. But that’s the situation now… Children trust adults and follow what…

Trust is the path to love

There is a lot of speculation about the word trust and deliberate. In almost all cases, trust is confused with faith. To have faith is one thing, to have trust is another. Faith is directed outward, built outside of us, and based on others’ experiences and achievements. Trust is directed inward, built within us and personal experience and achievements are based. When we are not moving anywhere and do not want to know anything about ourselves, the meaning of words is not important. We can think and talk indiscriminately whatever comes our way. However, when we want to have clarity about ourselves and the world, every word matters. We need to be careful about what we think and say. In this regard, we need to be careful about what phrases we use. The combination of „trust in someone“ is incorrect and pointless. Let’s use one principle when we have something that we assume is unknown. We have the phrase „We trust in someone“ where the alleged unknown is „trust“. We replace „trust“ with „gold“ and get „We have gold in someone“. The first question is…

The results of awareness

Every activity or occupation leads to results. Whether those results satisfy us or not is a separate matter. However, when it comes to awareness, the expected results are absolutely clear. Since our mind contains rules and definitions about what to see, how to understand what is seen, and what to do in certain situations, there is nothing else for us to become aware of except the content of our own mind. Awareness itself is the emptying of the mind of its redundant conscious content. It is precisely this redundant content that stands as a wall before our light, which is why we remain in darkness. This redundant content prevents us from seeing the truth. When we become aware of our mind, we achieve more emptiness and space. It is commonly understood that emptiness is a bad thing and that every empty space must be filled. Yet everything is created from emptiness. We can believe whatever we want, but our mind is our home. It represents a space that contains our things, where we move among them and handle them. I will describe the mind in…

Awakening and its use

Many times in our lives, we are perplexed, in situations that are contrary to all our expectations. Life serves us such surprises that we never hoped for. Life puts us on our knees many times, strikes us, we are shocked many times. It has happened to each person to get into shock, to collapse, to suffer, and even unwillingness to live. Then he enlightens and begins to think about the meaning of his life, why he came to this situation, what he did wrong. From that moment one begins to awaken, and he wishes he could lead his life. This is the most auspicious moment that unfortunately people do not value and consider it something bad. He stands up to himself. And he begins to look for a way out of the situation he is and has always been in, but has closed his eyes to that … At that moment, he begins to look for something to tell him what to do, where to go. But the choice has been deleted! And the choice is to either fall asleep again or continue to wake…

The mind and thinking

Mind and thinking have become the most uninteresting and unknown things in our time. The brain is often confused with the mind, but the brain is an instrument of the mind and connects the mind to the body and the outside world. And the mind is our instrument by which we live. The mind is the mediator between us and everything else. The more complete and complex the mind, the farther we are from everything else. The mind has five abilities. One ability is the storage through which we store everything that has happened to us, the information (data and information) we have collected, as well as all of our necessary things. They are texts, sounds or pictures. They are arranged in certain ways in groups of libraries. These layout methods are simple and complex, easy to access, or coded. The other ability is thinking.Thinking takes place in a specific workspace. There are two types of thinking – self and automatic, also called consciousness and subconscious. Consciousness is called self-thinking, everything in which we participate and respond. We call the subconscious everything invisible that happens…
